About Turner & Co Ltd
Turner & Co Ltd are Architectural Designers and Construction Consultants, based above the Museum in Duke Street, Tutbury. They provide a full range of design services from inception to completion for both domestic and commercial clients.
The business started in 2009 when Rob Turner, Director, had the desire to set-up a design-led consultancy practice which used the breadth of his skills and knowledge in the construction industry. As the company has grown, they have undertaken exciting projects, such as nationwide wedding venues, off-grid passive houses, one-off ‘Grand Designs’ style luxury homes and even a subterranean shooting range!
They work with residential clients who may never have undertaken a self-build before, right through to experienced developers. For those who haven’t built before, the team will walk them through the entire process right from initial concept ideas to the finished build.
Their commercial work has included vets practices, fine art galleries, wedding venues, drawing work for manufacturing projects, as well as various industrial and agricultural units.
Turner & Co also provide services for change of use applications and conversion Class Q’s as well as quantity surveying services. This is what sets them apart from their competitors, the breadth of services that are offered in-house. Not only do they offer cutting edge design work, but also the support services that are required throughout a project.
Meet the Team
The team is made up of;
Rob Turner – Director with 29 years experience in the industry.
Dan Briscoe – A senior designer with over twenty years experience in architectural design. He is originally from Shropshire but moved to South Derbyshire for work.
He joined the team in 2020 and specialises in high-end domestic projects which require a high level of attention to detail. In his spare time he enjoys building old VW’s!
Emily Smith – Joined the team in 2019 as Office Manager. Emily works as the first point of contact when a client contacts the business. She also has a keen interest in design and helps out with the interiors side of projects as and when needed. She is a bubbly character and an essential part of the team!
Jennifer Smith – Jen works as Accounts Manager and has been with the team since 2021. Jen came on board as the business grew, to further support the office.
In her spare time she plays the flute and takes part in long-distance charity cycle rides.
As the business continues to grow, they are also looking to take on a new apprentice in the coming months.
Rob said: “Our biggest selling feature is that we think outside the box. We are an innovative team and advocate representing what’s in the best interest of the client in what can often be a stressful and complicated process for those without experience. Clients are invited to come and discuss their plans in a warm and welcoming client lounge. As plans progress, they are then invited back to view fully rendered concept ideas and plans. We have also recently invested in a VR headset in order to improve the client experience."
