East Staffordshire Borough Council is to donate £300 to nine free food providers operating in the Borough. This comes after the Council launched its Voluntary and Community Sector Engagement Strategy in September 2022.
The local food providers that are set to receive the £300 donation are as follows:
YMCA Burton
Salvation Army
Winshill Neighbourhood Resource Centre
Renew Church
Burton Soup Kitchen
Community Cans Can Help
Burton HOPE
Humanity Unites
Helping Hands Community Cupboard
Cllr Bernard Peters, Cabinet Member for Communities and Housing Standards, said: “The festive season often sees increased demand for the work done by food banks, meaning this funding comes at the perfect time to support the provision of free food across East Staffordshire.
The Council is committed to supporting the voluntary sector across the Borough and will continue to work closely with local organisations to ensure residents are receiving the necessary support.”
