Burton Market Hall to Host Jobs Fair

East Staffordshire Borough Council is pleased to announce that a Jobs Fair will be held at Burton Market Hall on Thursday 17th May between 9:30am and 12:30pm. The fair is being delivered by a partnership between East Staffordshire Borough Council, Job Centre Plus, Burton and South Derbyshire College, Trent and Dove Housing, Support Staffordshire and Burton and District Chamber of Commerce.

The last fair delivered by the Partnership was hailed a success by both employers and people looking for employment. One local business that attended the event found it to be incredibly worthwhile:

The venue, set up and organisation of the jobs fair was excellent. We had nine vacancies to fill on the day for chefs and hospitality staff. I was absolutely thrilled to have two Chefs start trial shifts straightaway and four Waiting Staff start the following week. I would definitely recommend employers attend these jobs fairs.  We had a range of potential candidates to pick from and, for us, the time we spent at the jobs fair was really worthwhile.”

If you are looking for staff then this is a fantastic prospect, by having a FREE stand and spending just a couple of hours in the morning on Thursday 17th May at Burton Market Hall, you can quickly make contact with a number of job seekers.

The day is open to people across East Staffordshire and beyond looking for work or a change of career and promises to be a successful event, full of employers and jobseekers alike from across the area.  A range of employers are already signed up to attend with some exciting job opportunities on offer.  As a job seeker, you don’t need to do anything today; simply drop in with some CVs and see if there is anything on offer for you.

Cllr Mrs Julia Jessel, Deputy Leader for Regeneration said: “These jobs fairs have been running for more than 5 years. We have seen many people come through the door looking for work or information and advice about how to improve their career prospects and opportunities. We would strongly encourage job seekers to attend the event and to bring several copies of their CV with them.”

The job fair is expected to be well attended by jobseekers with plenty of opportunities for businesses that will be able to bypass the long process of advertising positions and sorting through CVs, instead getting straight to potential candidates for their open positions.
