Job Opportunity Day Hailed As The Best One Yet!

The latest jobs fair held at the prestigious Burton Town Hall saw an unprecedented number of job seekers hoping to secure work.  650 job seekers attend the latest Job Opportunity day and there were 53 employers promoting job vacancies on the day.

Both employers and job seekers were highly positive about the event particularly the choice of venue at the Burton Town Hall. 76 interviews were scheduled on the day itself with a further 19 job seekers offered a job on the day! In addition, a further 210 applied for a job during the jobs fair, either by leaving a CV or completing an application form.

Cllr George Allen Deputy Leader for Regeneration and Planning Policy said: “I’m delighted with how successful this jobs fair has been in helping to unite job seekers and employers within the Borough. The hard work undertaken between ourselves and our partners to deliver this fair has truly paid dividends.

“These events offer routes to sustainable employment, which will assist in improving the quality of life, raising aspirations and provide a better standard of living to local residents.”

The next jobs fair will be held on the 29th January 2020 at Burton Market Hall from 9.30am to 12.30pm. More information will be made available in the near future.
