Businesses Support Burton’s Bid for Britain in Bloom Crown

After an outstanding run of 13 consecutive gold medals in the Heart of England in Bloom competition, Burton upon Trent has seen its success rewarded with a place in the RHS Britain in Bloom finals for 2022.

The town, which will represent the midlands region in the Small City category, judging on Thursday 4th August, has built its success upon a reputation for high quality floral displays and engaging with local businesses.

Burton’s Britain in Bloom entry is being supported by two leading local businesses, Trent & Dove and Molson Coors.

Dawn Maddin, Community Engagement Manager from Trent & Dove said: “We are delighted to sponsor this year’s Burton in Bloom and were very pleased to learn volunteering, environmental impact and horticultural excellence are part of the criteria for this year’s entry. We are thrilled to support East Staffordshire Borough Council and all three elements closely align to our own investment within our communities.
Our close partnership will enable the creation of outdoor spaces accessible to everyone in our communities, recognising the positive impact on wellbeing and reducing isolation. The planting initiative will bring many opportunities to work with others, encourage outside working and see our areas beautifully transformed”.

Kate Macnamara, Corporate Affairs Director for Molson Coors Western Europe said: “As an important community activity where people come together to create displays to unite and delight, we're proud to sponsor Burton in Bloom 2022. With our brewing and head office home in Burton, we're cheering for the town to go beyond its Heart of England golds and succeed in the RHS Britain in Bloom competition!”

Cllr Raymond Faulkner, Cabinet Member for Environment and Climate Change said: “Reaching the Britain in Bloom finals is an amazing achievement for Burton upon Trent and I’d like to thank all the volunteers and local businesses who’ve helped deliver a wide range of community projects this year and also to Trent & Dove and Molson Coors for supporting our entry”.
