Iconic Pop-up Theatre Set to Return to Burton upon Trent This Autumn

One of the most iconic venues of the Edinburgh Festival is due to head back to Burton upon Trent this autumn with an exciting programme of live theatre. Following the success of The Roundabout Theatre last year, the state of the art, pop-up theatre with LED lighting and surround sound will return to Burton from the 8th - 11th of September.

The Roundabout, an award-winning portable pop-up venue from acclaimed touring theatre company Paines Plough, will head to Burton’s Washlands, not only to provide a wide range of activities for the community, but to also help boost the local economy.

Cllr Bev Ashcroft, Cabinet Member for Tourism and Cultural Development said: “I’m excited that families across our Borough and beyond will be once again be able to experience The Roundabout. It will provide a unique space in the heart of the town for community events and performances, as well as workshops and opportunities for local schools.

“Following the success of The Roundabout last year, this is another exciting event aimed at boosting the local economy. Bringing The Roundabout to Burton upon Trent continues to demonstrate the council’s commitment to supporting arts and culture”.
