Partnership between the Council and Everyone Active Looks to Enhance Changing Facilities at Local Sports Pitches

East Staffordshire Borough Council have been working closely with their leisure operating partner, Everyone Active, to enhance the Council’s changing facilities located at various outlying sports pitches around the borough, including Eton Park and St Luke’s in Horninglow, Pennycroft Park in Uttoxeter, and Edgehill in Stapenhill.

The works will be bespoke to each site, ranging from improved showering facilities and new toilets, to refurbished roofing and flooring. Eton Park, which has suffered from extensive vandalism, will be given a new external wall cladding to enhance its appearance and protect its exterior.

Works are expected to commence in September 2022. The Council are also in discussions with Everyone Active to look at further funding options to enhance the facility at Meadow Lane.

Councillor Bev Ashcroft, Cabinet Member for Tourism and Cultural Development, said: “We recognise the importance of sport and physical activity and would like the user experience to be as good as possible. The agreed plan will ensure the facilities are fit for purpose and enable users to enjoy their activities in enhanced accommodation.”

Everyone Active’s contract manager, Dan Mclean, said: “The partnership’s improvement plan and agreed contributions to the works will enable users of the facilities to have a greater experience when using the changing areas.  We look forward to seeing a wide-range of residents from the borough continuing to engage with the facilities for their sports.”
