£100,000 Business Springboard Boost Grants Programme

East Staffordshire Borough Council is delighted to announce a further £100,000 investment to support local new and growing businesses, building on the success of the first Business Springboard Boost scheme.

The first round of the Business Springboard Boost saw 13 successful new and existing businesses receive grant funding, which resulted in an additional £192,526 investment from the private sector.

The grant fund scheme is designed to help local businesses grow and flourish, supporting them to achieve their ambitions and simultaneously stimulate the local economy.

New businesses can apply for funding from anywhere between £500 and £5000 with existing businesses up to £10,000, which must be matched by the businesses own funding.

A large number of enquiries were received during round one so the Council is predicting an equally high level of interest for the new round.  Businesses are therefore being urged to get their applications in early to avoid disappointment.

Cllr George Allen, Leader of the Council, said:

“This is a really exciting time for businesses based in East Staffordshire or those moving into the area.   We are committed to supporting local businesses and this fund will make a real difference to successful businesses, as we found with the first round. Last year the Council used the £100,000 to match fund investment in businesses and employers across the Borough, for every £1 spent through this scheme we’ve seen £2.40 invested in new and growing businesses.

“This year we will continue this investment in local businesses by injecting another £100,000 which will help local businesses to thrive and grow, acting as a real springboard to success, benefiting the wider East Staffordshire economy and driving employment”.
