Habitat Regulations Assessment
We are currently experiencing intermittent technical issues whilst migrating to a new Planning system, please accept our apologises during this period.
Pre-application Advice
The pre application and enquiry service has TEMPORARILY been SUSPENDED due to the high volume of applications we are receiving. Pre applications for major and strategic developments will continue to be accepted.
If you are seeking advice on whether planning permission would be required please see our planning guides.
Alternatively you can submit a certificate of lawfulness application.
The Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA) is required by European legislation and relates to the impacts of a plan or project on the integrity of a Natura 2000 site (a Special Protection Area (SPA), Special Area for Conservation (SAC) or proposed SPAs and Ramsar sites).
There are no such sites within East Staffordshire, but the Council is obliged to undertake an assessment of the potential impacts of our Plan on sites relatively close to our boundary (such as the Cannock Chase SAC) but within neighbouring authorities.
