Statement of Community Involvement

We are currently experiencing intermittent technical issues whilst migrating to a new Planning system, please accept our apologises during this period.

Pre-application Advice

The pre application and enquiry service has TEMPORARILY been SUSPENDED due to the high volume of applications we are receiving. Pre applications for major and strategic developments will continue to be accepted.

If you are seeking advice on whether planning permission would be required please see our planning guides.

Alternatively you can submit a certificate of lawfulness application.

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out East Staffordshire Borough Council's policy for involving communities when the Council are preparing the Local Plan, revising associated planning documents such as Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) and considering applications for planning permission.

The aim of the SCI is to get more people involved in planning as part of planning applications, at an early stage, so they can have a more meaningful input into planning decisions.

The SCI was originally adopted in 2007, and revised in 2013. A revised SCI (October 2020) was adopted by East Staffordshire Borough Council on 28th November 2020. The document and the associated adoption statement can be viewed below.
