In an effort to support residents with financial pressures, East Staffordshire Borough Council is freezing cemetery fees until April 2024, with a review of fees and charges to be carried out in twelve months’ time.

East Staffordshire Borough Council has today confirmed that Burton’s Christmas Lights Switch On will return to the Market Place on Sunday 27th November 2022 from 2pm until 7pm.

The Statutes Fair, operated by Pat Collins Fun Fairs, will be returning to Burton upon Trent this year, taking place on both Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th October in the Market Place and the surrounding areas of High Street, Lichfield Street and New Street.

East Staffordshire entries, supported by Molson Coors and Trent & Dove, in this year’s Heart of England In Bloom competition have been rewarded for their hard work, as they collected a haul of gold medals at the regional awards on Thursday 22nd September.

The previous Mayor of East Staffordshire, Cllr Patricia Ackroyd, presented cheques to her chosen charities on Monday 5th September.
