East Staffordshire Borough Council is seeking residents’ views on how it should prioritise spending on services for the next year and beyond.

 

As part of Blood Pressure UK’s Know Your Numbers campaign, East Staffordshire Borough Council are offering two blood pressure test stations where residents can get free tests and advice.

Burton will play host to the annual Heart of England In Bloom awards in September, as East Staffordshire aims to make it 11 consecutive Gold medals with another gold in 2018.

Private landlords are being alerted to forthcoming changes to the legislation covering houses in multiple-occupation (HMOs). Currently, HMOs only need a licence if they have five or more occupants, which make up two or more households and are three or more storeys high.

The Council’s Customer Service Centre in the Market Place, Burton upon Trent, is set to undergo a refurbishment after approval was granted at the Councils’ Cabinet meeting on Monday 13th August.

The quality of East Staffordshire’s parks and open spaces has once again been recognised, with 4 parks across the borough awarded Green Flag Award status for 2018-19.

Businesses across East Staffordshire are being urged to take advantage of the Business Growth Programme. The scheme has £4m left and will end in September 2018.

The jobs fair held recently at Uttoxeter Town Hall was a resounding success.

Residents in East Staffordshire are being invited to stand with others from around the country to honour the men and women currently serving, or who have served, in the armed forces at a special flag raising ceremony this month.
